Whats the why behind my career choice? I always knew I was destained to do something in life that involved helping and caring for others. I'm entirely too emotional to be in the medical field, so what else could I do to serve the people around me if I couldn't do that? I grew up in my aunts hair salon. Any time she did my hair or I watched the transformations she did on other people I saw something inside of them and me shift. I watched people depend on her for more than just hair. She was an extra shoulder to cry on, someone to celebrate with, come up with new ideas, help problem solve, she was literally the women for everything. I already enjoyed when she would teach me things while I was there with her, and if I'm honest she made me pretty darn good at what I do so I figured why not give this career a shot. After all it has everything I was looking for on what I felt I needed out of my life. Here I am 8 years later and I fall more in love with my career every single day. I get the pleasure of meeting so many amazing people and celebrating life's ups and lending out a ear and a hand when things are down. I've gone through so many first with people and some last. Ive been the keeper of secrets and the protector of all, all while making people feel great about the way that they look. Haircuts and coloring is more than just some shears and highlights and I'm so incredibly thankful I have a career that is a crazy amount of fun coloring and cutting hair and creating such incredible bonds with strangers who turn into friends.
